Last sunday, I ran 10K...I was pooped, but I had fun! I have some pictures, but they are not yet developed, because the roll isn't finished. When they are developed, I will either post them (if I figure out how) or simply be able to e-mail them to interested parties.
Oh, by the way, my rugby team got whomped last Saturday (the day before the 10K), and I was lucky enough to go indoor climbing yesterday.
I feel and kinda bummed out. I didn't drink all that much last night, either, so that's not an excuse!
Rats, rats, rats.
On the brighter side, I got to talk with an old friend (okay, okay, not THAT old...some folks are sensitive about the steadily advancing tide of change) from uni on the phone today! He's writing a grad. school aptitude test soon, best of luck and all that!
Hmmmm...simply blogging about how bored and generally bleh I'm feeling seems cathartic. I might actually have energy later on today!
Time will tell. Now stop reading this and go have a beer.

Wow, lots of stuff going on...and I haven't posted for a while.
Firstly, I now have wireless internet working at my house. I can now be a nerd again! It's a miracle.
Third, I think I'm gonna go climbing soon!!! Maybe this friday!
Finally: my wireless thingie gives me problems posting comments to other people's blogs, so that's why there has been a noticeable decrease in sarcasm and bad jokes in certain corners of the internet.
Adios for now...keep watching the skiis...

I was looking to see if there are any wack quizzes to post on this site.
Not really. But there's lots of wierd stuff, like "what kind of vampire are you" or "what is your dramatic death".
Some people's kids, I guess....

Some music stuff: I recently saw the cover art for Sarah McLachlan's "Fumbling Towards Ecstasy".
If I were a Freudian psychologist, I'd have something to say....
Gotta go...time to pick up the rental car and drop off boxes.

Yet another sports post (you'd think I was talented, the amount of time I spend talking about sports):
Rugby practice last night...I'm really, really, really sore. Went to the bar to say some goodbyes (I'm returning home to Ontario tomorrow night). That was the first time I've ever drank water in a bar without being forced to...
Water is the stuff of life...beer's maybe a close second or third.
I now have 2 songs stuck in my head:
"Surrender" by Cheap Trick
"Your Body is a Wonderland" by John Mayer
Catchy ditties (yes, I've professed a dislike of the latter song before)...all I can say is that the value of relaxing music cannot be overstated when you have a goose egg behind your ear. As far as "Surrender" goes...come on, people...Cheap Trick's Live at Budokan was the greatest recorded rock show in the history of the world! I'm just naive enough to believe that there was no lip-synching or other cloak and dagger skullduggery...having seen Cheap Trick live, I think they actually did play live at the Budokan all those years ago.
Could this be The Year? If so....is there any way, even remotely possible, that a downtown Toronto riot can be avoided?
I didn't think so, either.
I hope the Leafs win it all, but I REALLY hate riots. Best way to celebrate: go out, get drunk and buy rounds for friends (including the people in the bar you're watching the game at, who have just become your newest best friends).
Worst way to celebrate: "Hey, our town just won the Stanley Cup for the first time since the 1960s!" "Wow, cool...lets trash the place."
I have a wierd relationship with hockey. At its best, it combines co-ordination, agility, speed, strength and yes, even smarts.
At its worst, it's another thrilling episode of "Violent Meatheads....and that's just the fans".
On the recommendation of J , I saw 21 grams recently.
On the recommendation of pop culture in general, I watched Kill Bill, Vol. 1.
Kill Bill was amazing! Lucy Liu and assorted others stole the show as "O-ren Ishii and the Crazy 88" (Japanese Mafia...has to be seen to be believed). I really wish they'd left the movie together as 1 three hour film, rather than cutting it up. Oh, well.
Speaking of cutting up, I should warn you, Kill Bill, Vol. 1 is gross. There's pretty much an entire first aid primary assessment thrown in at various times (airway, breathing, circulation, visibile bleeding, decapitation, evisceration). I really recommend this one!!!!!
But only if you've got a strong-ish stomach and a good sense of humour. It's tongue-in-cheek slaughter at its most viscerally amusing.
21 grams....Sorry J, I just didn't get it. Kinda like "Lost in Translation" or "Requiem for a Dream"...Somebody wrote what was supposed to be a movie with meaning...only there wasn't any real meaning...at least I didn't see it. Some babble at the end re: "what is a life worth?" does not a thought-provoking film make.
I think I just don't get art films or "gritty, thought-provoking works of cinema", probably because I'm just a dumb Kinesiology student, heh heh heh.
